New Movie “Come What May,” Aims to Deter Obama’s Three Promises to Pro-Abortion Supporters

On January 20, 2009, President-elect Obama may begin to fulfill the three promises he made to pro-abortion rights supporters during his campaign: 1) Appoint abortion-friendly Supreme Court justices. 2) Sign legislation or orders, which mandate federal taxpayer funding for abortions. 3) Strike down all federal restrictions on abortion by signing the Freedom of Choice Act.

Introduced in Congress by California Democrat Senator, Barbara Boxer, in April 2007, the Freedom of Choice Act would nullify any and all restrictions on abortion, from parental consent laws, to waiting periods, to informed consent provisions.

“Unless pro-lifers rally quickly, the hard work over the past three decades by pro-life leaders and citizens would be swept away,” warns George Escobar, founder of Advent Film Group and the producer of “Come What May,” the new award-winning film that shows the legal argument for overturning Roe vs. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the 1970s.

“That’s why we are making the ‘Preview Edition DVD’ of the movie available now at the adventfilmgroup.com website. People need to be re-engaged to fight the abortion agenda,” Escobar explains. “Movies touch the heart and mind like no other medium. Pro-choice audiences have already told us that “Come What May” is causing them to ‘reconsider their position.’ That’s why every person concerned about life must see this movie, then invite their pro-choice friends to see it with them.”

The controversial film has received rave reviews from pre-release audiences nationwide, drawing large crowds in Oregon where 800 moviegoers filled the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center to capacity. Six distributors are vying for COME WHAT MAY, including the company currently distributing the new Christian blockbuster, FIREPROOF.

“What’s remarkable is that “Come What May,” a 2008 Redemptive Storyteller Award winner, was largely produced by over 40 homeschooled students mentored by only a handful of professionals,” according to Mac Nichols, a tax attorney who plays one of the movie’s U.S. Supreme Court Justices.

“The strength, determination and courage of America’s finest Christian youth to stand up and deliver such a compelling message in the wake of Roe vs. Wade... It is a ‘must see’ that will spur you onto action!” Kurt Ramspott, founder Guys For Life.

Recent preview audiences from a free online screening hosted American Family Association have commented: “COME WHAT MAY is an inspiring and Godly film that has a fresh perspective on our approach to abortion. It is refreshing to see a pro-family, pro-life film that puts priority on purity.” Another reader adds, “I highly recommend it for its engaging storyline and intriguing rhetoric. No matter what your stance on the issues ‘Come What May’ tackles, you’ll be entertained and mentally stimulated! Go with friends and you’re sure to be provoked to discussion afterward.”

Advent Film Group (AFG) produced the micro-budget movie in association with Patrick Henry College (PHC), a true-to-life powerhouse in collegiate debate and moot court competition. The movie's legal argument is solid, claims George Escobar, founder of AFG. Dr. Michael Farris, PHC founder and chancellor, wrote the film's legal framework. Farris, a constitutional attorney, has successfully argued before the U.S. Supreme Court.
